Paul Cayard
A passion for racing
Paul Cayard has a towering record of achievement in the world of sailing. The American has frequently changed speciality, switching from regatta racing to offshore racing with the same level of skill and commitment. A finalist in the Star class (a double-handed keel yacht) at the Athens 2004 Olympic Games, he won the world championship title on this monohull. He has won seven world titles in total, including the 1988 Maxi class world championship. His most prestigious win in offshore racing came when he led his crew to victory in the 1997-1998 Whitbread Round the World Race. A multiple America’s Cup participant and Rolex Yachtsman of the Year in 1998, Cayard has been a Rolex Testimonee since 2000. He wears a white gold Yacht-Master II, which he frequently uses for his regatta race starts.
